A long time ago in a galaxy far far away…
The forces of the Empire have been scattered throughout the galaxy after the Emperors “Assassination” onboard the mining station built by the Empire to help support the outer rim. The “Insidious attack” by members of the New Republic has caused the Republic itself to split apart leaving what is left of the Imperial Fleets to retreat to the outer rim where their support grows stronger against the threat of peace that is the Republic.
New republic members find themselves under assault in the outer rim as trade agreements collapse. The core worlds now held under the democracy of republic invasion support the new regime believing that the mining station was a massive weapons platform. However the assaults on Coruscant by the new republic have left a bitter taste amongst the population after thousands of innocent civilians died.
The New republic has given in to pressure from the senate to leave the running of the core worlds to the Republic and has been ordered to pacify the outer rim and persuade the smaller planets to rejoin the senate so that galactic order may be re-established once more.
After the actions of the Empire against the Jedi many force awakened have gone into hiding in fear of what may happen to them. Rumours on what happened in the jedi temple are however fading so will a level of calm return balance to the force once more?
While opportunity awaits those who would risk to venture into the outer rim for profit. Trade routes with the core are at their weakest and piracy is high. The black sun operates its own smuggling cartel which is ignored by both the Republic and Empire as it aids each side to acquire what is needed in these hard times.
With Piracy at an all time high the guild of bounty hunters has swelled for the first time in generations. Many new republic soldiers have given up their militia lives and turned into legal vigilantes by joining up with the bounty hunters in chasing down the filth that hides in the rim. With the Empire without a leader the once great armada has split into small fleets lead by Warlords who each claim right to leadership of the Imperial forces. This dispute has allowed the Republic time to deal with the crisis in the core and has left the New republic forces safe from mass attack as instead Imperial ships engage each other in brutal bloody conflict…
During this time of bitter conflict the crime syndicates have thrived leading to large scale piracy and lead to protection deals being brokered between the trade lords of the outer planets and the black sun. But with the problems in the core much of what occurs is overlooked leaving only the bounty hunters to clean up the mess – when the price is right…
The trade lord Jaxis is hosting an open meeting with pit fighting for your entertainment celebrating 2 years of “free trade” in his sector and has sent invitations to the various factions with offers of trade agreements or potential payouts…
With resources becoming scarcer in the outer rim the various factions have little choice but to accept his invitation and try to broker a deal each seeking to increase their survival potential in the darkest part of the galaxy.

The English countryside has for a long time been home to the manor Ravenholme. The history of the house on the hill goes back several centuries, but the history of the site upon which it is built dates back to the time of the Elder Gods. The mansion’s land belongs to no country and its walls reject the constraints of normal society. Since its construction, the house has been a popular resort for nobles and people of class and wealth, and its owners— whoever they have been over the ages— host to garish gatherings of hedonism and indulgence. Glasses of wine punctuate duels to the death, players at cards bet with their souls. It is said that wars have been started and ended in its parlour, entire fortunes lost to dice and the course of history changed. The house is also the subject of many dark and unsettling rumours. Whispers of creatures seen in the shadows and rituals for mysterious forces are framework to tales of transformation— of the body, of the mind, of the soul. Those who go into Ravenholme and come out again are different people— if people at all. As a character in the setting, you will be a player in a vignette, a single strange tale from the halls of the manor Ravenholme. You and your fellows will explore its many corridors and corners, both unearthing and writing its dark and unusual history with every step taken. You will face creatures of the night and forces incomprehensible; you will face your fellow actors, you will face death itself. All are but strokes on an epic canvas; each tale a single movement in the grand opera that is Ravenholme.
2009, Invitation Only You are a promising, rich and successful person. You have made both friends and allies, built and burnt bridges. You are a rising legend. It is then no surprise to you when a letter arrives in the mail with an invitation to an exclusive auction to be held within the week at a manor house on the outskirts of London. An itinerary for a private jet and a limo have been included. It would be rude to decline. After an excellent and relaxing flight, you enter one of the many waiting limousines, catching a brief glimpse of several other figures doing much the same. A long ride ensues, and with the provided refreshments, you find yourself drifting off to slumber…

You are a bad person. In your life you have made some very negative influences on the people around you. Now you are in jail. Death Row. The Chair is only hours away. You lay down to sleep for the last time in your life. When you wake up you find yourself in a dark room, people are waking up, just like you, all around you. You’ve seen on the news of the strange case of people on Death Row disappearing across the US. Now you’re about to find out why.
Bad Dreams is a psychological horror larp and is strictly R18. Character creation is simple, you are a prisoner on Death Row somewhere in the US. You are guilty. Did you leave a path of bloodshed throughout America? Accidently kill a cop? Struck out on crime number three? Were you betrayed by your crew or did you take more blame that was due? Are you a bad person who got their just deserts or an average joe who fell on times that were just too rough? The roads are many and varied. How did you get there?
