Mundane Details

Game is pirate themed, and is set within the 1600’s Caribbean world the NZLarps on-going Pirates larp is based in. This means if you already have a character in this game, you can play it at the BattleCry larp. If you don’t, you get the option of having a character given to you, or creating a character which you can then continue to play in the NZLarp games.

The BattleCry Larp is held this year on the Friday night, 9th of February. Venue is the Auckland University Architecture Building map link building 421, look for area with 400 on it, travel from Symond Street, through the gap between ITSS and the Conference Centre, down some stairs into an open Quad area with picnic tables and trees, this will be our meeting spot at 6:30pm…

Gathering time will be 6:30pm with kick off time at 7pm. Finishing up around 10pmish, we have to be out of the venue by 10:30pm.

Characters

I am taking registrations for the Larp now. If you are wanting to use a pre-exisiting character or create one for future games, please register asap…

Partial character sheets will be sent out to those pre-registered in the week prior to BattleCry, so players can pre-plan beforehand if so desired. This might be useful for planning costumes, or any props/accessories which would fit into character. There will be some props available on the night, which are specific to the game.

*Note: Please have any weapon accesories (swords/pistols etc) sheathed at all times when not in combat. And we ask that pistols are “not real looking” so we don’t have unwary students think you are terrorists and call the police/security people.

Go to the creating a Pirate character page to see how to go about creating a character and also some tips on character skills and abilities.

Register info, please email me (Karen) telling me:
1) your details (name, how to contact you etc)
2) your level of larp experience (lots, some, none)
3) whether you are using a pre-existing character (include a copy), want to create a character, or want one given to you.

Cut off point for pre-registering with pre-existing characters or creating characters is 4th of February.

Game Rules <—— click there

These rules explain combat and how it is resolved. It also explains healing and character deaths.

Please note that if you play a regular character in the ongoing Pirate Larp and “die” in this game, your character isn’t dead for future games, it’s just for the night. The rumor of your death is greatly exaggerated and it was only a flesh wound.
