Every year America holds a big convention which is called BattleCry. It’s big in that it includes a wide range of gaming tournaments and events to try out. Usually there are roleplaying games, several card games, a range of wargames and at least one Larp event. It is held early in the year, around February, before University starts up, so we can get together, play a heap of games we like, and get geared up for the return of regular weekly America gaming nights. It’s a great way to start the year.
Every year we try to include all the regular annual tournaments we usually offer, and look for new things we can try out. If you have any suggestions of tournaments you would like to see run at a future BattleCry, please contact the Tournament Officer.
BattleCry runs over 2 days, with tournaments happening throughout the day, and with the Larps and social events in the evening. There are usually shop stalls selling or demonstrating games and related products, as well as a kitchen selling food and drinks.
As we get people from out of Auckland, we also organise billets or somewhere for visitors to stay over the weekend. It’s a great time to meet new players and catch up with gamers from previous events.
Keep an eye on this page for a link to the details for the next BattleCry.
