America’s Cup is our annual roleplaying tournament.
It is a weekend long, with four systemless games, played two a day. We try to have it during Mid Semester Break, around July.
Friday night we have a non-judged live roleplaying game. Sunday night we go out for a prizegiving meal.
The judging is done with each GM giving every player a score for each game. Players are rotated so they get different GM’s for each game. The marks are then totaled and 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awarded. We also award a best of session for each game (excluding place holders).
Although it is a tournament, and the roleplaying is judged, the point of America’s Cup is not to win but to have fun. The games are designed to be enjoyable and a good time is had by all. The game’s have always had a high standard and many past games are still remembered as some of the best roleplaying games ever.
